Teens will learn to make healthy snack options for diabetes awareness. This will be a hands on food prep.
Teen Cuisine is a youth nutrition curriculum made up of lessons consisting of Diabetes awareness, food safety, food preparation, and touch on physical activity.
Participants will learn nutrient dense food and snacks, read food labels, understand MyPlate, read and follow a recipe using correct cooking and measurement techniques, identify portion sizes, and safe food handling.
This project is funded through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
