Teens will learn to make healthy snacks options for diabetes awareness. This will be hands on food prep.
Teen cuisine is a youth nutrition curriculum for diabetes awareness and food safety, food preparation, and touch on physical activity. Participants will learn to choose nutrient dense foods and snacks, read food labels, understand MyPlate, read and follow a recipe using correct cooking and measurement techniques, identify portion sizes, and safe food handling.
This project is funded through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
