Join the fun by attending BUGfest! The event will feature OSU Extension's Insect Adventure, where you'll learn about arthropods from an enthusiastic, and entertaining entomologist.

Join the fun at Shawnee's first annual BUGfest! The festival will include an Insect Adventure, where a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and entertaining professional entomologist will walk participants through arthropod exploration (and handling) of 30 species of living arthropods. (Help!) The Bugs are Eating My Garden will feature an OSU Extension gardening expert who will discuss if insects are friends, foes, or phobias. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of their butterfly garden, staff members from the OSU Extension will demonstrate how to plan and plant a butterfly garden at your home. There will also be 3D printing activities in the library's new Maker Lab, a "buggy" story time, learning experience centers, an art project, fun crafts, and more. The event will be Saturday, June 1, beginning at 11 am, at the Shawnee Public Library and will be fun for all ages.
