Come join the Southwest OKC Library for a free & fun all-ages event centered around Earth Day and our sprouting community garden!

Join Southwest OKC library's Teen Advisory Board as we celebrate the kickoff of our Community Garden and Earth Day in one awesome event!

This free indoor/outdoor event features a variety of activities suited for all ages, including:

  • lawn games
  • sidewalk chalk
  • nature crafts
  • rock painting
  • tissue paper flowers
  • recycled art crafts
  • adventure backpacks
  • and more!

  • Family Story Time (All Ages): Dads & Donuts (10:30-11:30am)
    • Grow your readers! Enjoy books, songs, and activities that encourage language and pre-reading skill development. Designed for children of all ages and their caregivers.
  • Let's Get Gardening: Seed Swap & Plant Exchange (10am -1pm)
    • Join us for a morning of gardening fun! Bring plants, bulbs, seedlings, cuttings, or seeds for trade at this come-and-go event.
  • Spark A Change: "From Scratch" Author Visit (3-5pm)
    • Spark a Change continues this spring with our second community read, From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home by Tembi Locke! Join our conversation as we invite Tembi Locke into our community. We will host our Spring 2024 author, Tembi Locke, at select locations in April to share her story! This book will cap off Spark a Change: Resiliency for our community before we begin celebrating the Summer Learning Challenge.
