Strengthen your technology skills. This program will cover an introduction to the Scratch programming language through hands-on exploration in a supportive learning environment.

Scratch programming introduces computer science topics with a simple, friendly interface. You'll learn how to apply coding concepts to practical solutions and create a game you can play!

You can attend as few or as little of this series as you'd like. See below for the summary of each program and click here to view all events in the series.

  • July 8th: Clicker Style Game
    • Learn to program a clicker game in Scratch by using variables and loops. Try to click on an object as many times as possible before the timer runs out
  • July 15th: Flappy Bird Style Game
    • Create your own flappy bird game in Scratch! Learn how to make a scrolling game and randomly generate pipes that your bird, cat, bowl of cheese puffs, or avatar of choice can navigate through.
  • July 22nd: Pong Style Game
    • Learn to program a Pong game in Scratch! Create a fun two-player game where players bounce a ball back and forth without missing.
  • July 29th:  Platformer Style Game

It is recommended that you come with a pre-made Scratch account; this will streamline the class and allow participants to save their work. No prior coding experience is necessary for this program.
