Participants can expect to understand a little more about traditional Chickasaw dress and design and create their own Native American style beaded earrings. Registration required.
Chickasaw storyteller and artist, Amanda John, has been beading for 16 years. Starting with the traditional Chickasaw Beaded collars, she has branched out into fingerweaving, regalia-making, and other beadwork. Made with glass beads, the collars and earrings as they are worn today would have adorned women post European contact. Participants at this program can expect to understand a little more about traditional Chickasaw dress and design and create their own Native American style beaded earrings.
Registration required. Beadwork earrings for adults and teens over 13.
