Whether you’re new to book discussions or a regular, we want to hear from you. Share your thoughts and opinions and hear others’ experiences while exploring different topics in this book discussion on The Cooking Gene: A Journey Through African American Culinary History in the Old South. This year's Crowns Tea will explore the the ways food and Black culture, history, and memory combine to form the culinary art of soul food. This program is the first in a series designed to consider the culinary history—both general and personal—of African Americans.

Download our PLS Connect app for quick and easy access to digital copies of the book. A limited number of free physical copies of the book are available at the Norman East and Norman West branches.
