Milking a cow is an unforgettable and fascinating experience. See first-hand how to milk a cow and the importance of dairy foods for good health and nutrition as we watch the modern milking process.
Trained instructors will demonstrate how to milk a cow, describe how milk goes from the farm to the consumer and then answer questions from the audience. Students and presenters share an experience that includes, math, science, health (nutrition), and agriculture, all presented in an outdoor format. This innovative program brings the dairy experience directly to children. They will learn about the characteristics and anatomy of dairy cows, the importance of dairy foods for good health, modern environmental and food safety practices and the modern milking process featuring a live cow.
