The third program in our Healthy Challenge series. This healthy cooking demonstration will focus on reducing the amount of sugar in beverages and snacks. Participants will learn how much sugar is in popular beverages and will be provided with healthier alternatives for beverages and snacking to reduce risks of obesity. Challenge activities this month will include all previous activities as well as: Replacing one sugary drink with a sugar-free alternative for the entire month; trying one of the healthy snack recipes provided at the program; sharing what was learned at this session with one friend or family member; checking out a low-sugar cookbook from the library.
"Financial assistance for this special project is made possible with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries."
Our community partner this month will be the Chickasaw Nation.
