Boost your child’s confidence in reading by taking it to the pets! As a friendly and open listener, a certified therapy animal makes a fantastic reading partner. Registration required.
Children will practice reading in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere at their own pace with Ms. Cathy and a certified therapy dog (Buzz or Sully) provided through the library. Reading to dogs not only helps children improve their confidence and skills but also has many social and emotional benefits as well. Participants can bring a favorite book or choose one from the library!
This special one-time summer session is designed to introduce your child to the program and help determine if it’s a good fit for your family.
Our regular schedule will resume in September and will run from September through December 2025, and again in the spring from January through April 2026.
Space is limited and registration is required please call the Blanchard Library 405-485-2275 to schedule your 15-minute time slot. Designed for beginning, young, reluctant, and challenged readers.
Please note: If a registrant does not arrive at their scheduled time, we will move on to the next registrant.
