During this day-long exhibit, quilters from the Norman Area Quilters Guild and other artisans will demonstrate their craft. The Friends of the Norman Library will host a craft book sale and swap.
During this day-long demonstration quilters from the Norman Area Quilter Guild will display the steps involved in making a quilt. Crafters will also demonstrate weaving, embroidering, knitting and crocheting. The Friends of the Norman Library will offer craft books for purchase from 10-2. Bring a craft book and swap for a "new to you" book starting at 11.
This program is free and open to the public. If you have ever wanted to make a quilt or faltered over that next step in the quilting process, this is a chance to watch and learn from your neighbors who are passionate about this traditional art.
This year's display will focus on quilts that tell a story. The quilt story may be boldly displayed in appliqued words, written on the fabric, sewn in pictures or even hidden in the quilting. Quilts will be on display through March in the Norman Public Library Gallery Room.
