"Get Fresh!" Tweens & Teens healthy cooking program. Learn about nutrition, healthy eating, cooking techniques and taste some of the yummy recipes. The Get Fresh! program is brought to you by the Chickasaw Nation and the USDA. The children will learn about healthy eating habits, nutrition, wellness, cooking techniques through cooking demonstrations and try some of the yummy recipes. A waiver must be signed. Space is limited and registration is required. Ages 11-18. We encourage the use of our new event tracker system, so kids bring your library cards and use it when you check in for the program. All the recipes and nutrition information they use are verified by registered and licensed dietitians to ensure the quality of our recipes. They base their educational teaching on contemporary tools: the USDA's MyPlate and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. http://getfreshcooking.com/ The Healthy Literacy Grant is funded by the Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Service (IMLS).
