The Shawnee Friends invite library supporters to attend and learn about how to join. The luncheon will feature an engaging presentation by Dr. Benjamin Myers, an Oklahoma Poet Laureate.
Attend the Friends Annual Membership Luncheon and enjoy visiting with the Shawnee Friends Members. Those attending will learn about the many ways the Friends support the Shawnee Library, and the activities and projects of the Friends. Memberships are available at a wide range of levels. The Friends will provide a light lunch at no cost for those attending. April is National Poetry Month, and the speaker will be Dr. Benjamin Myers, the Oklahoma Poet Laureate for 2015-2016. Dr Myers is the Crouch-Mathis Professor of Literature and English at OBU. He is the author of three books of poetry and numerous essays and scholarly articles, published in journals such as The Yale Review, Image, 32 Poems, and The Christian Century, and many others.
