Chelsea Ryan, circus artist and owner of Hooplahoma, will demonstrate hoop tricks and the cyr wheel. She will teach hula hoop techniques to beginners and advanced teens.

Chelsea has become skilled in many circus disciplines that require balance, strength, and coordination. She is now proficient in unicycling, stilts, juggling, rola bola, and hoops, and can even perform combinations of many of these at once. However, her main passions and best skills are the hoops and the cyr wheel. Chelsea is not only the first cyr wheel artist from Oklahoma, but also the 2018 USA Wheel Gymnastics National Champion for Women in cyr wheel. Working with kids and teaching has always been her true love. Her mission is to spread the joy of learning through circus arts, and to prove that truly anything is possible.

What’s in it for you?  . . .

  •   Succeed at doing something new
  •   Improve your coordination, balance, and rhythm
  •   Develop a positive attitude toward trying—even failing
  •   Be a part of a large group encouraging each other to achieve their goals

Summer Learning at Pioneer is possible with the support of Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Institute of Museum and Library Services, Hitachi Computer Products of America, The Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation, Sonic, America’s Drive-In, Pioneer Library System Foundation, and the Friends of the Libraries.
