Calling all movie lovers! The Movie Club is an opportunity to watch a film with a small group and have informal conversations about movies. Think of it like a book club, but with movies.

Calling all movie lovers! For three weeks in May, the Movie Club will meet in the Norman Central Library Gallery room to watch a movie as a group and have an informal conversation about the film and movies in general. Think of the Movie Club like a book club, but with movies. The full May schedule for the Movie Club will be:

May 14 at 7 PM in the Gallery Room: Hearts Beat Loud (2018, PG-13, 95 minutes) Hearts Beat Loud is a heartfelt comedy set in Brooklyn, New York that stars Nick Offerman as a father who attempts to bond with his daughter by starting a band together before she goes away to college.

May 21 at 7 PM in the Gallery Room: Modern Times (1936, 88 minutes) Considered one of the greatest movies ever made, Charlie Chaplin stars and directs the silent movie classic Modern Times, which sees his iconic "Little Tramp" character struggling to fit in with the modern, industrialized world during the Great Depression.

May 28 at 7 PM in the Gallery Room: Rashomon (1950, 87 minutes, in its original Japanese with English subtitles) One of legendary Japanese director Akira Kurosawa's most essential films, Rashomon is a psychological thriller that tells the story of an incident from multiple, subjective viewpoints, allowing those watching the film to create their own opinion of the crime.

All movies will start at 7 PM and be shown in the Gallery Room at the Norman Central Library.
