Dr. John regularly teaches an "Introduction to African-American Literature," as well as a popular culture course entitled, "Hip Hop as Poetry, Literature, and Cultural Expression." She also teaches graduate seminars as well as other upper- and lower-division courses that address African Diaspora literature and culture. She is affiliated with both the African and African-American Studies and the Film and Media Studies programs here at the University of Oklahoma.
