Aspiring writers gather at their hometown library to participate in the live, streaming two-hour Creative Writing Seminar conducted by Ron Carlson, author of "Five Skies."

Audiences will gather to view the live, streaming event at one of the Pioneer libraries located in: Blanchard, McLoud, Moore, Norman West, Shawnee, SOKC, and Tecumseh. 

Ron Carlson is the award-winning author of four story collections and five novels. His fiction has appeared in Harper’s, The New Yorker, Playboy and GQ, and has been featured on NPR’s This American Life and Selected Shorts as well as in Best American Short Stories and The O. Henry Prize Stories. His novella, “Beanball,” was recently selected for Best American Mystery Stories. He is the director of the UC Irvine writing program and lives in Huntington Beach, California.

This is one of the 2018 PLS Big Read events celebrating Carlson’s novel, Five Skies. Sponsors of 2018 PLS Big Read are Pioneer Library System Foundation, Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, and Norman Arts Council.
