These hands-on activities give children experience with real-world scientific and artistic concepts, as well as using technology to bring that experience into the twenty-first century.
This week, we'll be learning about chemistry. Every good home chemist needs a strong background before they start on their career as a Mad Scientist, and we're going to give it to them: we'll make slime, we'll make oobleck, we'll blow stuff up (okay, maybe not that), and all the while, Learners will get to learn about atomic structures, bonding forces, and energetic transfer.
This Learning Lab is for ages 5 through 7. All Learning Labs have an age requirement: if your child does not fit the age profile of this Lab, we can almost guarantee (ages 5-18) that we have one for your family - and there are activities for all ages throughout all of summer in the Norman Libraries!
These Learning Labs open for registration two weeks prior to their start date, and registration is required. You are welcome to contact Aaron Pence, the manager of the Computer Training Center, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (405) 701-2696 with questions.
