These hands-on activities give children experience with real-world scientific and artistic concepts, as well as using technology to bring that experience into the twenty-first century.
This week, we'll be learning about geology. chess. One of Western Civilization's oldest games, chess is a great way to learn game principles, study patterns and learn strategies, play well with others, and have fun! Learners in this Lab will learn the rules of the game, will play chess with other opponents (real and digital), and will even get to make and print their own chess pieces on the Computer Training Center's 3D printers!
This Learning Lab is for ages 5 through 7. All Learning Labs have an age requirement: if your child does not fit the age profile of this Lab, we can almost guarantee (ages 5-18) that we have one for your family - and there are activities for all ages throughout all of summer in the Norman Libraries!
These Learning Labs open for registration two weeks prior to their start date, and registration is required. You are welcome to contact Aaron Pence, the manager of the Computer Training Center, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (405) 701-2696 with questions.
