Free, public event to recycle clean, #6 polystyrene (styrofoam).
Help improve the health of the planet, people, and animals! Pioneer Library System is partnering with Churches Caring for Creation to recycle your clean polystyrene (styrofoam) into usable plastic.
Foam takes 500 years to start decomposing and in the process leaches harmful chemicals into the environment.
Drop off your clean foam at the Norman Public Library Central north parking lot and watch it be compressed and transformed into reusable plastic with the mobile Hybrid Styro Densifier.
Items that can be recycled: Clean, clean, clean food service or packaging foam #6 only. Please wash or wipe out food containers, empty cups, and remove tape/paper. Packing peantuts CANNOT be recycled.
