Make new friends while birding at South Lakes Park! Connect with others and learn more about other’s experiences while sharing your own. Designed for all ages. Registration required.

It's fall migration season! Join us as we come together to observe Oklahoma's birds and visiting birds in the wild at South Lakes Park and get to know people who share a similar interest. Discover new techniques and perspectives as we meet with others to learn about their experiences while sharing your own.

Attend this informal outing with one of ODWC's biologists, Jena Donnell, to learn more about how to spot birds in the suburban wild and identify the feathered friends that we see! We'll be starting off from the second parking lot (Google Maps link) and walking on the 1.3 mile paved South Lakes Park Loop trail (AllTrails link).

Please bring any materials to help support your experience and comfort.

We suggest bringing the following:

  • comfortable clothing and shoes, suitable for the weather
  • sunscreen
  • a water bottle
  • personal binoculars, if you would like to have your own
  • a mobile smartphone with eBird, iNaturalist, and/or Merlin apps for bird identification
    • Demonstrations for using these apps for birding will be provided

Join us for other early morning birding outings on Fridays this fall!

Limited binoculars and field guides will be provided.

Registration required. Please only register for one session.
