Together, Michael Hosty and Jamie Oldaker will share stories of how their respective ‘towns' helped to foster distinctive sounds that have garnered recognition and respect around the world.
Jamie Oldaker is a legendary drummer & Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame artist who came to prominence while performing with Leon Russell. Oldaker's work with Russell (and later, Eric Clapton) made him a key component to the so-called ‘Tulsa Sound', and helped to spark a career as an in-demand drummer for many other musical giants over the years: Vince Gill, Tony Joe White, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Bramlett, JJ Cale, Willie Nelson, Willis Alan Ramsey, Ace Frehley and others.
Michael Hosty is a veteran songsmith and performer who is regarded as a key ‘driver' of Norman, Oklahoma's roots-music renaissance. Hosty has become a fixture at Norman's premier music venue, The Deli, where he holds weekly court. His topical and humorous showcases attract thousands to Norman's historic campus corner each year.
